Dr. Theodore Turnquest received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of South Florida in 1995. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. After which time, he returned to the University of South Florida, H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center to complete a fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology. Dr. Turnquest is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology, and Board Eligible in Hematology.

In 2002, Dr. Theodore Turnquest moved back to The Bahamas (Nassau) where he is a Consultant in Medical Oncology for the Public Hospital Authority. He currently holds the position of Chief of the Department of Medicine within the Princess Margaret Hospital, Nassau. He provides Clinical Hematology and Medical Oncology care for the Public Hospital System, including directing both inpatient and outpatient activities. In addition, Dr. Turnquest developed a national oncology program in conjunction with Ministry of Health, in the Bahamas. Moreover in 2002, Dr. Turnquest also established his private medical practice, Oncology Consultants Ltd. Here he provides medical oncology and hematology services for local residents and tourists alike.

In 2002, Dr. Theodore Turnquest moved back to The Bahamas (Nassau) where he became (and still is) a Consultant in Medical Oncology for the Public Hospital Authority. He provides Clinical Hematology and Oncology care for the Public Hospital System, including directing both Inpatient and Outpatient activities. In addition, Dr. Turnquest developed a National Oncology program in conjunction with Ministry of Health, in the Bahamas. Moreover in 2002, Dr. Turnquest also established his Private Medical Practice, Oncology Consultants Ltd. Here he provides medical oncology and hematology services for local residents and tourist alike.

In 2003, Dr. Turnquest became the Medical Director of Laboratory services at Doctors Hospital Health System (Nassau). In this position, Dr. Turnquest is responsible for the clinical oversight, management, advancement of laboratory services and strategic planning.

In 2006, Dr. Turnquest joined the staff at the Chrissie Tomlinson Memorial Hospital, specializing in Medical Oncology and Hematology. Dr. Turnquest provides services for residents and tourists of Grand Cayman.

Dr. Turnquest also assists in nursing education, community awareness programs, and civic groups programs on cancer screening and treatment. He’s also the primary investigator for several research studies. To date he, in conjunction with Affinity Research (Nassau), have four active clinical trials studies in breast cancer, one in lung cancer and a number of new studies in the pipeline.
